Inspired by the female warriors culled from Japan’s upper class during the Imperial periods who fought to protect their family, household, and honor during times of war, the SS15 collection from Herve Leger by Max Azria exudes a sense of strength and femininity. With a color pallette of soft tones mixed with bold saturated hues, the pieces also feature the line’s signature beading and metal weaving. While one can always expect to find the iconic bandage dresses heavily featured within the collection, and worn by many a woman attending the show, there are also stunning separates and pieces with exaggerated sleeves and detailing at the waist that are reminiscent of the garb worn by the female warriors who inspired the collection.
