I’ve always loved dresses. As a little girl, I would refuse to wear pants and would instead passionately plead with my mum “dresses mommy, dresses!” As the years have gone by, I’ve more that warmed up to pants and jeans. However, a beautiful dress will always be my first choice. In fact, for almost every birthday, my parents gift me a new dress. This year, it was this gorgeous Zimmermann maxi dress. I was instantly drawn to it when I found it at Holt Renfrew and saw that it has shades of both Fran Fine from The Nanny and Zeffirelli’s Juliet from the famed 1968 film version of Shakespeare’s great tragedy Romeo and Juliet. As a little nod to the rather romantic styling of the dress, I paired it with this padded Lele Sadoughi headband that totally evokes the delicate headdresses that Olivia Hussey wore as Zeffirelli’s Juliet.
As for these stunning jewel Pretty Ballerinas mules, you might recognize them from my post recapping the lines Fall/Winter 2019/2020 press preview {here}. They were one of my favourite pairs from the preview and were at the top of my personal wish list. I really love the mule style that Pretty Ballerinas reinterprets each season. This take on the mule style just shows how incredible the brand is at fresh fashionable takes on classic favourites.
