For the longest time, I shied away from wearing white dresses. Quite obviously, I’m pretty fair. I would worry that a white dress wouldn’t complement my fair skin. In fact, I feared that the dress and I would look like one! I always admired how elegant and fresh others would look in crisp white dresses but always assumed that would never look good on me.
Much like the little black dress, the little white dress is a wardrobe staple that one can rarely go wrong with. However, I would recommend staying away from them as a wedding guest. For those donning a white dress, they are easily accessorized and can transition from day to night beautifully.
Eventually, my appreciation of the classic wardrobe staple won out and after donning white on my wedding day, I realized that I too could wear a white dress without appearing ghost like. Since then, I’ve amassed quite the collection of white dresses. Each one even more welcome than the last in my wardrobe. I particularly love finding white dresses with interesting features like this statement sleeve. These little extra design features add the perfect final touch to the piece and help make an outfit that much more dynamic.
