I recently moved to Montreal to go back to school and move in with my long distance boyfriend. It took over 12 hours, 2 cars, a 26 ft U-Haul and 40 some odd boxes for me to move my life and my poodle to a brand new city.
According to the inventory that I presented to the Canadian border and customs agents, roughly 40 of those 50 boxes contained clothing. Darling boyfriend has yet to let me live this down or the fact that most of the space on that 26 ft U-Haul was consumed by my wardrobe. That is why, on those first ludicrously snowy days, as I set up our new home together, he came up with this rather charming ultimatum…
Darling Boyfriend: “ Sweetheart, this is insane…forget insane, this is a problem. Where are we going to put all of this stuff?!?!? (While lifting up yet another contractor sized garbage bag full of shoeboxes)
Moi: “ Well we do have the second bedroom….”
Darling Boyfriend: “What? My office?? I don’t think so….I’m giving you 365 days to wear all of this stuff or it’s out of here! Wait…what….does this still have a price tag on it?!?!?”
Both poodle and I looked at him like he was absolutely insane but it gave me the idea to start this blog. It will give him the photographic proof that just because things might still have tags on them does not mean that I don’t need all of the pieces that I have so lovingly collected over the years. Most importantly this blog will be a way to continue to immerse my self in my passion for all things fashionable and to join the community of fashion bloggers that I have so admired for the past few years.
And in case your wondering…that above-mentioned (small) second bedroom became my closet along with his home office. Sharing is caring after all darlings.
