This vintage skirt always makes me want to twirl around, case in point these photos. When I wear it, I am utterly incapable of not twirling about uncontrollably every few moments. It’s like I’m a little girl again and my mother just bought me a pretty new dress. Instead, now I’m a bit older and instead of a pretty new dress I’m twirling for joy over several new dresses, a new pair of Louboutins, and a gloriously ridiculous new vest. Darling Fiance has stated that he refuses to be seen in public with “that thing.” To this I say, group outing to the Old Port for the vest to go on a stroll! But I digress, back to the vintage skirt at hand. This is one of those great pieces that has been in my closet for years. I seriously think at least ten. My mother purchased it for me when I was in high school on one of our yearly trips to our summer house on the North Shore of Long Island. I love the stiff fabric that makes it so perfect for twirling. It reminds me of something Betty Draper would wear in the first few episodes of Mad Men. Speaking of, who else is excited for this season to start?! I’m counting down the days till more scotch and vodka soaked episodes of some seriously amazing 60’s fashion.
