I’m going to let you in on a not so secret secret. I don’t do my own hair. Ever. And if I do, it’s pretty bad looking. Because of that, I get a blow-out once a week. It might sound like a bit of an extravagance and I guess it is to some extent but in my mind, it’s money very well spent. I can either have pretty hair or a mane that resembles a horse’s tail. However, thanks to the rising popularity of blow-dry bars, this luxury is becoming more and more accessible. Montreal’s latest blow-dry bar, BLOME, not only offers a menu of blow-out styles but also ponytails and braids. Clearly, I had to check this out and I’m quite happy I did. From the beautifully intricate ponytail and fishtail braid combo I ended up choosing, to the elegant and welcoming space that is the salon, I was thrilled with my entire experience at BLOME.
I’m going to let you in on another secret. Many bloggers, this girl included, shoot multiple looks in one day. Don’t get me wrong, these really are the outfits I wear during the week but for practicality’s sake, I typically shoot them over the course of an afternoon. Between all of the minutia that goes into running a blog, the other creative projects I work on (can’t wait to fill you in on an exciting new development soon!), and actually having a life, shooting every day is just not practical. That being said, I love how this hairstyle was able to transition between the varied looks that I wore last week. Make sure to check back tomorrow to see how my Viking Queen hair seamlessly transitioned into my next and totally different outfit.
