In the classic Audrey Hepburn film (and really, aren’t all Audrey Hepburn films classic?) Funny Face the character Maggie Prescott urges the women gathered around her to “banish the black, burn the blue, and bury the beige. From now on girls, think pink!” With winter coming (how’s that for cultural references?! throwing in a little Game of Thrones for fun), thinking pink is one of my favorite ways to keep the bitter cold and frequently grey skies from pushing me into a black uniform for the duration of the winter months. The pink coat has quickly become one of the hottest trends of the season with fashion world figures throwing them over their shoulders and layering them over everything from structured blazers to winter appropriate knits.
