Tiffany & Co. Fragrance

January 24, 2019

There are few things more iconic than a little blue Tiffany & Co. box. Capable of making a heart flutter with even a glimpse of the recognizable blue hue of the box, Tiffany & Co. has distinguished itself as one of the most beloved luxury brands in the world. While known for their glittering fine jewels and elegant homewares, the storied house has recently launched a foray into the world of fragrance with beautiful scents. First premiering Tiffany & Co. Eau de Parfum and following with Tiffany & Co. Eau de Parfum Intense, the scents are as captivating as one of Tiffany & Co.’s sparkling stones.

Tiffany & Co. Eau de Parfum is a celebration of the house’s incredible legacy and storied history. Created by world-renowned master perfumer Daniela Andrier, it is a timeless scent that utilizes iris, one of the most precious scents in the world of perfumery. The iris flower also has a deep tie to Tiffany & Co. appearing in some of the earliest sketches in the house’s archives. In fact, an iris shaped brooch set with garnet blossoms and sapphires earned Tiffany the grand prize at the Paris Exposition in 1900. It is only appropriate then that the heart note of the Eau de Parfum is Noble Iris. Harvested in France during July and August, the iris butter utilized in the Tiffany & Co. fragrances is extracted in a process that is exclusive to the house. With a top note of vert de mandarine and base notes of patchouli and musk, the scent is modern and fresh and exudes a feminine strength. As for the beautiful bottle it sits in, it is as stunning as the fragrance inside. Inspired by the house’s famed diamond cuts, the elaborate faceting at the base is intended to recall the world’s most rare yellow diamond – the staggering 128.54 carat Tiffany Diamond. Acquired by Charles Lewis Tiffany, along with nearly a third of the French Crown Jewels, in 1887 these acquisitions earned Tiffany the title of “The King of Diamonds”, and began the history of excellence that is still a hallmark of the house today.

Revealed in Fall 2018, Eau de Parfum Intense is a rich and deeper version of the original Eau de Parfum. Also crafted by Andrier, it further explores notes of iris, but with the addition of base notes of amber and vanilla like benzoin, and top notes of vert de mandarine and pink peppercorn. Musky and floral, it is a beguiling scent that envelopes the wearer and makes for a stunning signature scent. As with the original Eau de Parfum, the bottle is as beautiful as the scent. For this captivating addition, the faceted flacon is illuminated with a deep shade of the iconic Tiffany blue.

I enjoy long walks through Neiman Marcus, red soled shoes, skinny black pants, oversized cocktail rings, obnoxious bows, nipped waists and full skirts.
