I’ll admit, I’m forever trying to bring a little bit of France to Montreal. Lucky for me, the French heritage brand Saint James makes it quite easy to embrace my inner Parisienne here in Canada. Known for their classic Breton tops, la marinière, the brand has deep roots in French history and style. With their commitment to producing beautiful and classic pieces, the label has stood the test of time over centuries.
I recently had a chance to style a few pieces from Saint James’ Spring/Summer 2019 collection and this top is one of them. I instantly gravitated to this updated take on la marinière thanks to the feminine bow detail at the wrists and neck. It also happens to be another gorgeous design that the talented young designer Romain Brifault created in collaboration with Saint James. I highlighted his first piece in collaboration with the label that was part of the Fall/Winter 2019/2019 collection {here} that was a standout of the season and incredibly popular, and was excited to see what he would design for this season. Needless to say, he created yet another stunning design that stayed true to Saint James’ heritage while injecting his own fresh take.
Paired with these darling little red, white, and blue Pretty Ballerinas, and a classic denim skirt, I felt fully French (especially since I finished the look with my much loved Louis Vuitton Speedy).
