It’s no secret that I’m pretty skin care obsessed. That obsession has led to my eternal quest for finding the best products and the best treatments. With that said, I thought it would be fun and useful to round up my favourite face masks that I’ve tried so far this year. Some of them have been long time favourites, while others are newer to me. From a young age, I always invested in the best possible skin care that I could afford (or that my parents would be willing to buy me) and always made time at the end of the day to use them. I’m incredibly picky when it comes to the products that I use. While I do enjoy discovering new lines and products, I’m also incredibly loyal when I find things that really work well for me. And when I recommend a product, it’s because I really and truly love and believe in it.
Biologique Recherche Masque Vivant
Hands down, this is one of my favorite face masks that I have ever used. It’s also one of the most highly effective. Its unique ingredient list includes live yeast extracts which are packed with amino acids and nourishing Vitamin B. Not only does the Masque Vivant purify your skin, it also revitalizes and brightens your complexion. It’s a virtual facial in a tube, and I personally use it multiple times a week. I notice an incredible difference in my complexion when I use this product regularly. This is one of my must have products from Biologqie Recherche that I can’t say enough good things about. However, like with all Biologique Recherche products, there are no fragrances or perfumes added. For those who are new to the line, the scent can be thought of as rather “natural.” However, after seeing the incredible results I have had from this mask, I always say it smells like good skin. If I have a pimple, I’ll dab a little Masque Vivant on it and sleep with it overnight. Without fail, I’ll wake up to find the pimple gone.
Biologique Recherche Masque Biosensible
I’ve yet to try a product from Biologique Recherche that I haven’t fallen in love with. With the line being so customizable, I know that if Suzie Recommends a product for me it’s going to be amazing. I introduced Masque Biosensible during the winter and it made a huge difference in the health of my skin during this cold and bitter months. This totally gentle and nourishing mask sooths and protects the skin. Perfect for the harsh winter months, the combination of soothing, protecting, and moisturizing active ingredients makes this the perfect mask for calming the skin and helping to strengthen its natural barrier. I’ll even multi-mask by applying this mask to my cheeks and Masque Vivant to my t-zone and chin to combine the power of these two incredible masks for even more defined results.
CHANEL HYDRA BEAUTY Masque de Nuit au Camélia
This is another night time mask that I apply before bedtime and let absorb while I sleep. I swear, this product is magic. I was amazed that after just the first use, my skin looked noticeably more radiant – I woke up with a literal glow. You apply the ultra-lightweight creamy gel utilizing a petal shaped applicator that is genius in its design. As chic as it is practical, it allows you to perfectly apply the mask to every curve of the face. The HYDRA BEAUTY Masque de Nuit au Camelia is inspired by the dewdrops that appear on camellia petals to detoxify and reoxygenate this special flower, and contains the highest concentration of camellia in the CHANEL beauty universe. This is a must-have product if you’re looking to nourish tired, dull skin!
Over the past few years, I’ve really made a concerted effort to focus on cleaner beauty and wellness products. TATA HARPER is clean beauty line that is absolutely deserving of all the incredible hype around it. Not only is the line clean, this mask totally works wonders. The Clarifying Mask is packed with 40 high performance botanical ingredients that are 100% of natural origin, and 50% are derived from organic farming. The mask includes Salicylic acid and Lactic acid, and is skin perfection in a jar. The mask targets skin impurities like redness and blemishes and leaves it nourished, healthy, and balanced. I always reach for this mask the night before a shoot, or if blemishes pop up due to hormones or indulging a little too much with cheese or sugar.
You might have seen me share my love for TEAOLOGY’s Happy Skin a few months ago and let me tell you, the love is still going strong for this amazing all-in-one beauty balm. It can be used as a mask, moisturizer, and primer. It’s vegan, cruelty free, and derived from 95% natural ingredients and the beautiful light scent is totally natural. Dermatologist tested and hypoallergenic, Happy Skin is perfect for when your skin needs a little extra TLC. While international travel is currently off the table, I’ll absolutely be packing Happy Skin when I can finally travel again. It’s especially useful for reviving tired and jet lagged skin.
I’ve been a fan of fresh for years, I first discovered the brand through Blue Mercury and fell in love with their bath items. After years of loving and using the bath cubes, lotion, hand soap and body wash, I finally ventured into their skin care items. fresh utilizes natural ingredients and combines them with modern science. I love almost anything rose-scented or based, and the fresh Rose Face Mask is not only one of my favourite masks of 2020, but also one of my favourite rose-based products. This mask smells absolutely heavenly and totally nourishes and pampers the skin. The ingredients include pure rosewater, cucumber extract, and Aloe Vera Gel so it instantly cools and calms the skin.
Charlotte Tilbury Multi-Miracle Glow
I absolutely love Charlotte Tilbury products. From makeup to skincare products, the line is consistently excellent. She draws from her experience and knowledge as one of the most influential makeup artists in the world. I love that Charlotte creates products that are easy to use and highly effective. The Multi-Miracle Glow is another amazing multi-use product that I love using as a mask but can also be used as a cleanser and balm. Utilizing vitamin A, C, and E as well as rose-hip and camellia oils, this packs a serious nourishing and pampering punch. If you really want to pamper your skin, you can even leave this mask on overnight.
KORRES Triple-Dose Resurfacing Mask
Utilizing heritage natural ingredients from Greece, KORRES is an incredible clean skincare brand that I’ve really come to love. Combining science with homeopathic pharmaceutical knowledge, KORRES products are packed with high quality ingredients. When I find my skin looking a little dull or needing a little extra exfoliation, I reach for the KORRES Triple-Dose Resurfacing Mask. The ingredients include pomegranate grains for a natural and gentle exfoliation, as well as AHAs and BHAs. Salicylic-acid-rich white clay and white willow bark extract remove excess sebum and refine the appearance of pores.
