After attending the wedding of friends of ours in Loudéac, a charming little town in the heart of Brittany, we ventured on towards Normandy and checked into a stunning privately owned chateau. One of the towns I was most looking forward to visiting in the area was Bayeux. It was a center of Medieval life in the region and features the staggeringly beautiful Norman-Gothic cathedral of Notre-Dame. It was also one of the first towns liberated during the Battle of Normandy during WWII, so it’s quite rich in history. Another reason…
Signature de CHANEL High Jewelry Collection
I couldn’t think of a better way to start this week then by sharing the absolutely stunning new high jewelry collection from CHANEL. Premiered on Monday in Paris, the Signature de CHANEL collection was unveiled to the international press ahead of the house’s Haute Couture presentation this week. However, before I start waxing poetic about this latest collection, a wee history lesson. In 1932, Mademoiselle Chanel created her one and only fine jewelry collection…
Runway Report: CHANEL 2015/16 Cruise Collection
While the streets might be covered with snow and the days short and grey, thanks to the vibrant CHANEL 2015/16 Cruise collection you can banish the winter blues in the most elegant way possible. The collection was first shown in May of 2015 in Seoul, South Korea and was promptly met with rave reviews. The presentation was held in the Dongdaemun Design Plaza…
CHANEL Métiers d’Art “Paris in Rome 2015/16” Collection
It’s no secret that I have a deep (and according to Darling Husband, expensive) love of the legendary house of CHANEL. Synonymous with luxury, CHANEL is a shining example of all that is magical and downright artistic in the world of fashion. From their spectacular Haute Couture collections to their lust-worthy and totally iconic quilted handbags, each season and collection only further cements the power of CHANEL. Under the direction of fashion powerhouse Karl Lagerfeld, the house has only continued to remain at the forefront of the luxury world…
Mademoiselle Privé
Hands down, the highlight of my long weekend in London was getting a chance to visit the Mademoiselle Privé exhibit at the Saatchi Gallery before the exhibit closed. Offering a glimpse into the famed House of CHANEL, the exhibition highlighted the elegant world of Mademoiselle Chanel herself. The fully immersive experience allowed visitors to interact with the world of CHANEL on all tactile levels…
A Weekend in London
Last weekend, Darling Husband and I spent a whirlwind 48ish hours in London. With the totally zen luxe Metropolitan by COMO in Kensington as our home-base, I got to enjoy taking in the Mademoiselle Privé exhibit at the Saatchi Gallery before it closed and an oh-so important shopping exhibition to Harrods while he attended to business commitments. From dining at 34, Nobu, Hawksmore, and even visiting the cutest Second Cup on Portobello Road, we basically ate our way through our time in this amazing city…
