This past weekend Darling Husband and I went to Philadelphia to continue to celebrate our nuptials, even after almost a year. While we had the big white wedding (I know, I really do owe you all a wedding post) this past September, we decided to have a small Jewish blessing to honor the traditions that I was raised with. Just as the priest who married Darling Husband’s parents married us, the rabbi who married my parents presided over the traditional ceremony we had this past Saturday. A trip to Philadelphia isn’t complete without a trip to Rittenhouse Square (my old neighborhood) for people watching, shopping, and a meal at one of the many delicious restaurants in the area. Another must-do activity while in my hometown is raiding my mother’s jewelry collection for a piece to borrow while in town. For this trip, I decided on this oversized cocktail ring that once belonged to my grandmother much like the watch that I wear daily. Needles to say, my grandmother always felt that the bigger the stone the better when it came to jewelry. She was a smart one that nana.
