Paris is one of those cities that no matter how many times I visit, I always end up falling more and more in love with it. Each trip that Darling Husband and I have made to France has always resulted in the “why don’t we just move here” conversation. I hope that one day we’ll be able to take the plunge, even if it’s only temporary or for part of the year. In fact, my retirement plan for us is to one day renovate a chateau like the Australian family who is so lovingly bringing Chateau de Gudanes back to life. Shockingly when I rather enthusiastically informed Darling Husband of this modest little plan one random evening, he wasn’t totally adverse. I think he has his own dreams of playing lord and master of his own little domaine one day just as much as I aspire to play Chatelaine.
However, this visit was unlike any of our prior French forays. We went avec bébé! It was defiantly a learning experience for Darling Husband and I. This was madam’s first long haul flight, extended hotel stay, and experience with a time change all rolled into one week. While it was definitely quite the undertaking for us, I’m so happy we did it. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous before we took off but thanks to some wonderful advice, a little research, and just living in the moment I think we pulled off a wonderful trip. In fact, I’m working on my own little guide for travelling with a little one to Paris that I can’t wait to share shortly!
