Instagram can be both a total time suck and a wonderful tool – a place to find inspiration and a place to sometimes feel like you just need to walk away from social media. But I love that Instagram has allowed me to find and connect with wonderful and creative women who are doing fabulous things and for that, I will always love it. A few weeks ago, I came across the account of the Los Angeles based label SOLIKA. With their crisp minimal aesthetic and beautifully cut pieces, it was love at first sight. Designed by friends and design partners, Chaya and Sarah, the line is named for a brave woman who stood fast in her convictions and is designed with the modern woman in mind. While modest in their design, the pieces are elegant and sophisticated in their minimalism. Their entire Spring/Summer 2018 collection is perfectly executed, I particularly fell for the gorgeous DAHLIA dress in black. With its delicately ruffled asymmetrical hem and sleeves that sit at just the right spot below the elbow, it’s honestly my new favourite dress.
