As promised in my Monday post recapping the CHANEL Spring-Summer 2019 Haute Couture collection, here is an intimate look at the incredible pieces that make up the collection. While these beautiful shots absolutely give you a more detailed look at these spectacular garments, please believe me that there is nothing quite like seeing them up-close. Having now had the privilege of attending two CHANEL Haute Couture re-sees {you can check out my posts regarding these amazing experiences here and here}, I can say that these pieces really are the divine brought to life.
The sum total of the collection represents thousands of hours of exacting and highly specialized work by artisans who have perfected their specific talents. Each bead, sequin, button, and jewel is placed and attached by hand. Every pleat, fold, tuck, and drape is carefully executed and secured. Stitches are minute and perfectly placed, and flowers and feathers are shaped and placed with intricate precision.
For the lucky few who are Haute Couture clients of the House of CHANEL, ordering a piece from one of these collections is akin to commissioning a piece by one of the great artists of our time.
