Last week I attended the SS14 presentation at Ponyride, the Montreal based distributor for some of my favorite labels like Designers Remix, Darling, Rails, Amanda Uprichard, Charli, Peace Love World, and Pink Stitch, to preview their clients’ upcoming collections. With snow on the ground and a serious chill in the air, the pieces made me long for warmer days. Or at least a trip to Miami. Like yesterday. The event was wonderful but will undoubtably prove dangerous for my bank account.
The aptly named Darling showed a dreamy color palette full of soft and feminine pastels for its collection of pretty little dresses and ladylike separates that made me swoon and start planning an imaginary garden party.
Amanda Uprichard featured bold colors and geometric detailing that screamed cosmopolitan chic – perfect for the city girl constantly on the move.
Hands down, Pink Stitch makes one of the best maxi dresses EVER with its slightly hi-lo hem, perfectly plunging neckline, and downright alluring back. For spring they’ll be releasing their signature style in multiple bold colors, neons, and awesome prints. Hello leopard print!
A fashion blogger and celebrity favorite, these pieces are perfect for creating a model off duty look with their slouchy matched short and buttonup top sets, downy soft shirts, and the perfect pair of grunge meets luxe denim shorts that, mark my words, will be making their way to my wardrobe.
Heavy on the hamsas, peace signs, and hearts, Peace Love World is Cali girl cool with their relaxed lounge wear that’s adorable and not meant to simply be worn around the house.
With its clean color scheme and summer weight knits, Charli is the perfect option for polished yet relaxed weekend style. I love the unexpected yet totally perfect pop of bold colors that can be found in some of the garments like the striped pieces above.
The elegant minimalist of the group, Designers Remix SS14 collection begs to be street styled. It also begs for me to pick up a few, and when I say few, I really mean loads of pieces of the collection.
