While I might have missed World Mastercard Fashion Week this past season due to a wonderfully hectic schedule here in Montreal, I nevertheless followed all of the collections as they were shown. One of my favorite shows is always Pink Tartan and designer Kim Newport-Mimran once again produced a fabulous collection. Drawing inspiration from the glamorous 1970s while embracing the strength of the modern woman, Newport-Mimran presented pieces that were both elegant and fresh. Working mostly in black, white, and navy, the collection was punctuated with pieces in a stunning and bold paisley.
Pink Tartan has not only become one of my favorite shows of World Mastercard Fashion Week but also one of my favorite labels to wear. I recently had the pleasure of spending an intimate evening with Newport-Mimran in honor of the newly opened Pink Tartan concept shop within famed Montreal retailer Ogilvy. It was a wonderful night of discovering the space and the gorgeous pieces therein and also listening to the woman behind the label speak about her creations. Kim Newport-Mimran’s passion for creating beautiful clothing for women is infectious and she can’t help but charm anyone who she speaks with.
