One of the most hotly anticipated shows of World MasterCard Fashion Week was Joe Fresh and Joe Mimran did not disappoint. One of my favorite sites of the show, the positively beaming and totally proud Kim Newport-Mimran sitting front row echoing the same effusive support her husband showed during her own show for Pink Tartan with the couple’s daughter. With its simple yet still bold and classic color palette, think blues, white, and a pop of red, the collection was perfectly cohesive and wearable. The true definition of runway to real life, the pieces are not just meant to be worn by underfed and underage runway models. In fact, most of the pieces would be a welcome addition to any woman’s wardrobe. What remains to be seen is just what pieces will make it to production and if we’ll be able to snag them on our next trip to Loblaws, online, or in the handful of standalone Joe Fresh shops. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for the trench above and the monochromatic white look below in particular.
