Runway Report: Hilary MacMillan FW14

March 31, 2014

GP2_3496

Inspired by her own Scottish heritage and recent travels throughout the famed Scottish highlands, Hilary MacMillan presented a collection rich with tweeds, knits, and fur. Also featured, a whimsical pheasant print that tied together the collection’s color palette that shares its reds, whites, blues, and tans with the aforementioned bird. These decidedly feminine pieces are a beautiful reinterpretation of traditional hunting garments. Only her third runway show, MacMillan’s talent reaches far beyond her youth. Attention to detail and classic tailoring  have become hallmarks of her eponymous line. MacMillian’s FW14 collection is both elegant and youthfully fresh, melding classic silhouettes with subtle injections of edge.

I enjoy long walks through Neiman Marcus, red soled shoes, skinny black pants, oversized cocktail rings, obnoxious bows, nipped waists and full skirts.
