It’s no secret, I really fell hard for the CHANEL Spring-Sumer 2019 collection {check out my recap of the clothing and accessories here and here}.Iit is a true celebration of everything that is special about the House of CHANEL and for that, it has totally captivated me. For my final article regarding this incredible collection, I’ll be giving you a closer look at the beauty look that perfectly accompanied the garments and accessories shown during the presentation.
CHANEL’s Global Creative Make Up and Colour Designer Lucia Pica created a look that is both fresh and feminine yet bold and powerful. A signature that she shares with the master himself, Monsieur Lagerfeld. Pica notes, “Karl Lagerfeld’s girls always look strong and beautiful at the same time” and she perfectly encapsulates this in the look and colours she created for the collection. As befitting the chic summer beach feel of the collection, the makeup is sun-kissed and polished yet at the same time still natural and relaxed feeling. While these aesthetics might seem at odds with one another, Pica quite masterfully blended them for a beauty look that is both enviable and wearable. Wonderfully versatile as well, the colours and look wears beautifully on all different skin tones.
Naturally groomed yet still polished brows are a refreshing departure from the over arched Instagram brow that has dominated (in my humble opinion) far too long. With flawless glowing skin, sun kissed slightly blushed cheeks, a pink pout, and subtly shimmering lids, the models were absolutely radiant. Known as a master of colour, Pica has created a lipcolor that pops perfectly but does not overwhelm the wearer. Coming out as part of the CHANEL Spring-Summer 2019 makeup collection, ROUGE ALLURE VELVET in Infrarose is actually matched perfectly to one of the bags of the collection.
