The Fall/Winter 2018/2019 collection from CHANEL brought an elegant new addition to the world of accessories. Monsieur Lagerfeld has added a new member to the illustrious family of CHANEL bags, the 31. With its generous shape, this shopper is shown with a gorgeous combination of smooth and quilted leather, in printed cotton canvas, and even in the house’s signature tweed. With its oversized dimensions and relaxed structure, it’s an elegant yet fresh addition to the CHANEL universe. The Gabrielle bag, another recent introduction from the house, is being shown in miniature and pairs beautifully against the volume seen in many of the garments of the collection. As for the classic 11.12 bag, this season brings bark motifs done in rhinestone. Another hallmark of Lagerfeld’s collections are the spectacular evening and “exceptional bags” that prove to be some of the most sought after creations from the House each season. Keeping with the nature-inspired theme of the collection, Mademoiselle Chanel’s beloved camellia is transformed into a scintillating evening bag, while a wooden log becomes an elegant little resin minaudière.
Known for producing some of the most spectacular costume jewelry, the House of CHANEL does not disappoint with the pieces shown as part of the Fall/Winter 2018/2019 collection. Impressive sautoirs of beads and pastel-hued glass paste are striking to say the least. Necklaces and bracelets are shown interlaced with chains and beads, and there are cabochon and graphic pendant earrings as well.
As for shoes, there are thigh boots, brogues, and boots in oxide gold leather that appears as if patterned on fallen autumn leaves. To complete the Fall/Winter tone of the collection, Lagerfeld rounded out the accessories with bold pink leather fingerless gloves that inject color and warmth into the otherwise richly muted color palette, as well as faux fur cuffs with feather embellishments, and oversized colorful scarves.
