As promised, I’ll be dedicating this post to a detailed look at the gorgeous accessories of the CHANEL Cruise 2019/2020 collection. While I’ll let the photos largely speak for themselves, I will offer a few notes on what was shown as part of Virginie Viard’s first collection as Artistic Director of the legendary house.
For shoes, there are elegant pointed pumps, trim little two-tone booties with small conic heels, and ballerinas in tweed that are so perfect looking that I’m already debating calling my sales associate to let her know to call me as soon as they arrive. Bijoux being such an integral part of the House’s sartorial heritage, jewelry is shown for both day and night with hoop and pendants earrings, bracelets set with colored cabochons, and cuffs bedecked in chains, leather, and stones.
For bags, the stars of the collection are the 11.12 done in quilted leather and tweed, and embroidered with flowers, the CHANEL 31 in faded denim, and the recently released CHANEL 19 in quilted jersey. Overnight bags, maxi duffels, backpacks, and hip packs are a fashionable and yet practical nod to this travel-inspired collection. The theme is playfully yet not less elegantly interpreted through a white cotton clutch embroidered with railroader’s lamps, and a minaudière in rhinestone resin.
