Banana Republic has always been a top choice for classic professional attire. However, thanks to the newly appointed creative director Marissa Webb, Banana Republic’s first ever fashion week showing was packed with the fashion crowd who were collectively exclaiming their appreciation for the F/W 15 collection. Under the aptly titled hashtag #thenewBR, you can see on social media what a stylish new direction the line has begun to shift in. The classic staples like suiting, wool blazers, and office appropriate dresses will still be present but they’ll be sold alongside bold colors, menswear inspired pieces, and mixed patterns and textures.
I’ll be honest, save for shopping for Darling Husband the last time I shopped at Banana Republic for myself was during my brief foray into Corporate America. I loved that the pieces were perfect for transitioning from the office to evenings out entertaining clients with just a simple switch of a heel and a bolder lipstick. But thanks to the wonderful new direction Webb is taking this classic company in, I’ll be shopping the store once more. Her fashionable and contemporary take on the classic pieces that Banana Republic is so well know for are perfect additions to any wardrobe. Sorry Darling Husband, my personal wish-list from this collection pretty much includes everything. Sorry, not sorry.
