Friday night Darling Fiance and I had one of those perfect nights out, I wore a great dress and we had the opportunity to attend the Concert Contre Le Cancer. This annual event not only raises funds and awareness for the Institut du Cancer de Montreal, but is also a gorgeous night at the symphony. I was so excited to see the newly renovated main concert hall of Place des Arts and I was not disappointed, it was absolutely stunning and the acoustics were out of this world. The concert featured the soprano Marie-Josee Lord and violinist Marie-Eve Poupart performing alongside L’Orchestre Metropolitain. With the program heavy on Bizet and featuring my favorites Gershwin, Puccini, and Bernstein, I was one happy little music nerd. Darling Fiance….well, he stayed awake. There was also a cocktail before and a champagne and desert reception after the performance, so at least he was well-fed.
