I thought it was hight time to bring back my Real Style series and I couldn’t think of a better person to kick this off with than the lovely and totally fabulous Julia. Working in fashion, you’d expect Julia to have killer style and needless to say, she doesn’t disappoint. She has that effortless sort of cool-girl style that fashion girls tend to have. Adept at mixing designer with vintage, throwing in a hint of fast-fashion, and topping it off with new designers that you’re bound to be obsessed with next season, she’s a sartorial chameleon who can wear pretty much anything. Even the quickest scroll through her Instagram (check her out here) and you’ll fall in love Julia’s style and eye for design. You’ll probably also fall in love with her dog.
Make sure to scroll down to get Julia’s shopping secrets, what designers she’s currently loving since they’re bound to be the next big thing, and just how to spend 48 hours in Montreal. Hint, it involves oodles of yummy food.
Who are your favourite brands/designers?
Too many to name them all! Attico, Jacquemus, Sandy Liang, Misa Los Angeles, Rosie Assoulin, The Row, and sooo many more!!
Where do you love to shop in Montreal?
I am more of an online shopper. Montreal is such a great city but we are lacking in the retail department for sure. My favorite shop in Montreal is Ruse on Saint-Laurent. They have the.best. vintage in the city.
What trends are you excited about for summer?
Backless shoes. Mules. White denim. Basically not having to wear 16 layers and winter boots.
Are there any trends or styles that you wish would just go away?
Highwaist fishnets under lowrise jeans….with a cropped top.
Who are your style icons?
Cher. And blogger/designer of The Attico, Gilda Ambrosio – We all have the same hair :p Also, Amalie Gassmann.
Do you have a signature look?
Oversized shirt, denim and a pair of statement earrings – Can’t leave the house without earrings, even if I’m taking my dog for a walk. A good pair of earrings will complete any outfit.
You have 48 hours in Montreal, how do you spend it?
Eat, eat and then eat some more. We have so many good restaurants in Montreal – my favorites are Vin Papillion, Juni, Lemeac, Foiegwa (THE BURGERRR) and Bird Bar. Go to the museum, visit the old port, drive/walk/bike up Mount-Royal, eat a bagel.
