As the title of this blog suggests, I live in lovely Westmount. Often this section of Montreal is characterized by its gorgeous homes, boutique shops, charming local restaurants…and its Psycho Madames. What is a Psycho Madame you might ask darlings? Well according to Darling Fiance (who came up with this charming term, or was it some relative of his? Oh well…) she is an animal print clad, be-jewelled, high heel clacking, glossy haired woman often found double parking her G Wagon in front of Holts. Her off-duty uniform runs towards Lululemon leggings and cashmere hoodies with a generous side of, you guessed it…leopard print. Well rejoice my fellow Psycho Madames and Mademoiselles, this is your season. Designers are showing countless animal prints, from leopard and feathers to snakeskin and zebra print, the shops are a veritable menagerie of options for your pattern mixing pleasure. That’s right darling, go ahead and embrace you inner Psycho Madame and have fun mixing prints with leathers and everything in between. I have to say, I’m proud to be a Psycho Madame. I’ve yet to meet a leopard print that I haven’t enjoyed wearing and I’m loving all of the great prints and embellishments that are popping up all over the place. And as for double parking in front of Holts, well I haven’t…yet. Darling Fiance won’t let me drive his shiny, fancy-pants car.
