Since my red lipstick post seemed to be pretty popular, I thought I’d give it another go but this time share with you my favorite pink lipsticks. My foray into colors other than pink is a rather recent development so I’ve amassed quite a collection of this staple hue. I guess you could say I’m a bit of a pink lipstick hoarder. Without further ado….my favorite pinks.
Fresh – Sugar Rose
Two words….idiot proof. No mirror needed for application, you can swipe Fresh’s Sugar Rose on like you would a chapstick. This little tube is a permanent resident of the land of my purse, in fact I own multiples of this industry favorite so I don’t even have to bother with having to worry about the possibility of forgetting to move this lipstick to another purse. It’s subtle and gives your lips a natural berry stained coloring but packs a nice gloss and leaves your lips super moisturized.
MAC – Sweet & Single
This came from the Barbie collection that MAC released a few years ago and I wish I would have picked up a spare dozen or so tubes of this perfect pink. It’s prim and lady like, just like the classic Barbie silhouette on the cap. It’s nice and creamy and very easy for this makeup application-challenged individual to apply so that clearly get’s it lots of extra points from me. If you haven’t noticed that easy application is key in my reviews, short of doing a full face of makeup for ballet, I’m a bit of a one trick cat-eyed pony.
Jouer – Peony
I know you’ve been seeing a lot of Jouer around the blog lately but I’ve totally fallen in love with this brand since first being introduced to it a few months ago. Peony is the perfect pink gloss, sweet and super feminine. I’m a sucker for the name and the fact that, when applied, it resembles the cover of my copy of Valley of the Dolls, which makes me one happy little camper. In fact, I feel like this shade would pair perfectly with a Pucci mini dress and cocktails in Palm Springs.
Chanel – Romance
As with my previous list, what would a rundown of my favorite be with out at least one Chanel pick? Romance is aptly named. Its a soft and sweet pale pink that is youthful without being juvenile. Much like the rest of the lipsticks on this list, it’s a perfect everyday shade that goes seamlessly from day to night.
Christian Dior – Kelly Rose
Even though this last pick needs to be applied with a lip brush, it’s easy to apply and packs a serious punch. It’s the boldest pink on the list with subtle flecks of glitter in it and a fuchsia tone. My magpie like love of all things sparkly and shiny first attracted me to Kelly Rose and has kept me hooked ever since. While I won’t be sporting this hue to my 8:45 am Soviet History class (even I draw the line at dressing up at that ungodly hour), it’s perfect for a night out when you want to add a little extra sparkle to your makeup without looking like a kindergartner picked your lipstick.
