The line comprises skincare, makeup, and a fragrance mist. It preserves and promotes radiant and youthful looking skin by supporting sources of vitality, and highlights the House’s commitment to conservation and sustainability. This commitment is not only seen in the formulation of the line – the products contain up to 97% ingredients of natural origin – but also in the packaging. Cellophane and paper inserts have been removed (instead, QR codes are used to access product information), organic inks and engraving are utilized on the bottles, and containers which are mostly glass and all lids contained recycled or bio-sourced materials. This commitment to sustainably even extends to the heart of the N°1 DE CHANEL products, the red camellia and other varietals of the camellia, a flower that is so emblematic of the House of CHANEL. Studied and farmed in an ecologically mindful manner, the red camellia lends its incredible properties to this very special line. Known as ‘The Czar”, the red camellia is capable of helping to protect skin vitality by addressing the first stage of skin aging. Naturally rich in antioxidants, it also helps protect skin from the consequences of stress and helps improve quality for a skin that looks radiantly youthful.
N°1 DE CHANEL
Red Camellia Revitalization Serum
This serum is concentrated in red camellia extract to aid in preserving the look of vitality. It is formulated with 95% ingredients of natural origin, 76% of which are derived from the camellia. It has a transparent gel texture with a refreshing effect that is immediately absorbed by the skin. With continued use, it visibly reduces the appearance of winkles and pore, improves skin elasticity and provides comfort and a radiant looking complexion. To maximize the effects of the serum, CHANEL has developed a signature application technique. Using the thumb and index finger, cary out a pinch and twist movement, moving outwards along the jawbone, than gradually moving up from the corner of the lips to ears, and lastly, from the most out across the cheekbones. These movements increase radiance by acting on vascularization and therefore on skin oxygenation.
Red Camellia Revitalizing Cream
This smooths and plumps and provides comfort and radiance. It is concentrated in red camellia extract and oil. This scented whipped cream is formulated with 96% of ingredients of natural origin, of which 70% are derived from the camellia. On application, it visibly smooths the look of lines, adding comfort and radiate to the skin while forming a protective barrier against urban pollution.
Red Camellia Revitalizing Eye Cream
Thanks to its formula enriched in plant-origin squalene and in hyaluronic acid, this pearlescent white cream hydrates and illuminates the eyes instantly. Its fresh texture, containing 91% of ingredients of natural origin, combines red camellia extract, which has revitalizing properties, with an anti-dark circles and into-puffiness “light complex.” Used regularly, the appearance of wrinkles in the eye area is reduced as well as the appearance of dark circles. Elasticity in the eye area is improved instantly, the skin feels more comfortable and the eye area looks more radiant.
Red Camellia Powder-to-Foam Cleanser
Entirely new, this ultra fine powder texture will revolutionize the skin cleansing ritual. Enriched with red camellia oil, it transforms on contact with water, into a soft, light foam in order to remove impurities and pollution reside. Its formula, containing 93% ingredients of natural origin, cleanses the skin, making it look radiant again. Skin in instantly purified and more radiant.
Red Camellia Revitalizing Lotion
This fresh and transparent lotion, highly concentrated in camellia water, contains 97% ingredients of natural origin, 48% of which are derived from the camellia. Applied before serum and cream, it tightens the look of pores, makes skin feel more comfortable and improves elasticity.
Red Camellia Revitalizing Serum-in-Mist
Thanks to its bi-phase formula, this mist achieves the feat of proving a red camellia extract that is as concentrated as in the Revitalizing Serum. Sprayed on the entire face throughout the day, it effectively helps protect the skin from pollution and thereby preserves its youthful appearance. Enriched in protective red camellia oil and in refreshing camellia water, it enhances radiance in the complexion and revives make.
Red Camellia Revitalizing Foundation
Coat pigments for long-wear combined with a second-skin effect film-forming duo, enable this foundation to even out skin tone and correct the look of imperfections. Enriched with red camellia oil and hydrating agents, its revitalizing formula, composed of 94% ingredients of natural origin, also helps protect the epidermis from external aggressors, and helps preserve its youthful appearance. Red Camellia Revitalizing Lip and Cheek Balm
Enriched with red camellia oil and plan origin wax, this creamy, coloured, multi-use balm can be applied using the fingertips to lips and cheekbones, to heighten their natural shade. Its sooth, non-oily texture melts instantly on the skin, and provides a sensation of immediate comfort and hydration. Lips look plumped and instantly feel more comfortable.
N°1 DE CHANEL – L’Eau Rouge – Revitalizing Fragrance Mist
In a reflection of the red camellia, this fragrance composition provides softness and energy. To that end, House perfumer Olivier Polge used a skincare base enriched with refreshing camellia water and a revitalizing red camellia extract as the medium for this fragrance mist. The singularity of the red camellia inspired him to create, in collaboration with the CHANEL Fragrance Laboratory, an original floral bouquet. As this flower is odourless, a dreamlike creative approach led him to imagine this fresh fragrance that plays with contrasts. He opted for generous floral notes and a heart evoking the round, sensual camellia flower: “I started out with a multiple of jasmine, orange blossom and rose floral facets typical of the House, and then I combined them with sparkling red fruit notes to express the freshness of this fragrance mist.”
