The other week I had the pleasure of visiting with the designer behind the absolutely wonderful Montreal-based line, Mulcair. Juliana Bennett is a graduate of Parson’s and a former Vena Cava intern. To say that she has a phenomenal design background is an understatement. I first came across Mulcair last Montreal Fashion Week and it was love at first sight. This gorgeous sheer dress was hands down my favorite piece out of the collection, granted I loved everything that Juliana produced. Before chatting with Juliana about Mulcair, I had the privilege of playing dress up with the line as styled by Juliana. I instantly reached for this dress as the first of three looks that I’ll be sharing with you darlings over the next few days. Its simple but classic silhouette is taken to a whole new level by the sheer material and and the contrasting material banding around the sleeves and hem. It must have been fashion kismet that I wore black tights and a basic black camisole that day because these pieces worked perfectly under the dress. Additionally, the Hermes belt that I was also wearing looked great and did a wonderful job accentuating my waistline and adding further dimension to the piece. Stay tuned for my interview with Juliana where we chat about her design process, inspiration, and what to expect from Mulcair in the coming season!
