It’s pretty crazy to think that there are items in my wardrobe that I purchased new that are now considered vintage. These Prada shoes for example. I picked them up during my senior year of high school and they’re now about 20 years old. I will say, they still look as good today as they did the day I brought them home. They also pair perfectly with this little black slip dress for major Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy vibes. Her elegant minimal style is still as achingly chic today as it was before her tragic death. She, along with other classic style icons like Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly with forever be my favourite personal style inspiration.
While this little black slip dress looks absolutely perfect on its own during warmer weather, it’s also so easy to style for colder weather. A great way to transition a piece like this is with layers. A black turtleneck worn under the dress or a pretty chunky sweater worn over are both wonderful options. Not only is this dress a great piece to transition between seasons with, it’s also easy to wear day or night. It pairs beautifully with heels for an elegant evening look but it can easily be toned done for a daytime look with riding boots or a combat boot in colder weather and a great flat sandal for warmer weather. Super versatile items like this dress are some of the best pieces to invest in since you have the ability to get so much use out of them. It’s also a very easy piece to find at multiple price points.
