The recently released LES 4 OMBRES TWEED collection from CHANEL Beauty has been arguably one of the most anticipated beauty launches from the Maison. It was so highly successful, it sold out almost immediately. Luckily, I got my hands a on a few pieces from this gorgeous collection.
Tweed is ever so intrinsically linked to the House of CHANEL. Beloved by Gabrielle Chanel, it has all but become synonymous with CHANEL. Nearly a century ago, Mademoiselle Chanel first utilized this formerly masculine and rather utilitarian material in her collections. It imbued her pieces with a casual elegance that is still the hallmark of the House. Rich in texture and with endless colour possibilities, it is a versatile and elegant fabric. The CHANEL Makeup Creation Studio drew inspiration from this beloved material for this 2022 Eyes collection. At the heart of the collection are the quads. These Chanel eyeshadow quads were first introduced in 1982 and have become a CHANEL makeup staple.
Tucked into pretty little tweed pouches, the quads that make up LES 4 OMBRES TWEED collection are as beautiful as they are special. Tweed Fauve features radiant hues that bring warmth to the eye with its rich earth tones. The quad features a fiery brick orange, a deep aubergine brown, a satin coral and a shimmering amber gold. Tweed Cuivre evokes the precious metals that were dear to Gabrielle Chanel and that can be found in her designs. It features a deep shimmery brownish plum, a coppery brown, a gold highlighter, and a gorgeous true bronze. Tweed Pourpre is a beautiful balance of the soft femininity and the shimmery boldness that is so emblematic of the CHANEL universe. It brings together pinks and mauves in a satin and iridescent finish. It features an iridescent golden mauve, a light satin peachy pink, an intense satin plum, and a satin old rose. Tweed Brun Et Rose is a completion of four beautiful browns and beiges. It features a rosy platinum, an icy brown, a chocolate brown, and a pink highlighter.
The four accompanying eyeliners are Bois Noir, a deep brown and Cuivre Doré, a copper, that are exclusive to the collection. Additionally, Prune Intense, a plum, and Espresso, a chestnut brown are being shown alongside these new colours as complementary hues. And finally, there is Le Volume de CHANEL in Noir for lashes.
