Montreal is still firmly in the grip of a grey and cold winter, so I’ve decided to boycott the current weather situation through my own small act of protest. Instead of countless photos of me dressed in the same two pairs of snow boots, because really that would be dreadfully boring, I’m finally going to be sharing our amazing French vacation from this summer.
Darling Husband and I spent a bit over two amazing weeks in a country that has held my heart from my first visit to Paris at 14. We started our journey by spending two days in the City of Lights with friends before we took off on our road trip through Brittany, Normandy, and the Loire Valley. While those two days in Paris featured Darling Husband closing an epic deal across multiple timezones and hiding in the corner of historic buildings while only slightly raising his voice at misbehaving clients, I got to enjoy showing our friends around my favorite arrondissement of Paris, Le Marais. It spreads across both the 3rd and 4th on the Right Bank and is rich with history, beauty, and some of my favorite boutiques in the city. Previously home to much of the aristocracy during the Ancien Régime, it features the Place des Vosges and some of the most stunning hôtels particuliers, otherwise know as staggering urban mansions, in Paris.
