While I wish winter was simply a memory, at least I have this gorgeous LAMARQUE Collection coat to keep me warm and ease the blow of continued snow days. Before I moved to Montreal, I thought a pretty little wool coat was all I needed to tide me over during the colder months. How wrong I was. Thus began my search for winter coats that could withstand the arctic temperatures that Montreal sees on its coldest days but were still attractive and didn’t make me look like a marshmallow with legs. Enter LAMARQUE Collection and their beautifully designed and crafted coats. This Montreal based label is known as a standout in the world of leather jackets but they also produce some of the most fashionable yet still functional winter coats on the market. Thanks to designer Ifigenia Papadimitriou’s discerning eye and achingly cool aesthetic, the pieces that make up LAMARQUE Collection are truly standouts. From their outerwear to ready-to-wear garments are hand-stiched, hand-cut, and expertly tailored. It was this quality that first attracted me to the line and after scooping up the most perfect dove grey moto-jacket from them last season, I was hooked.
As for this coat, while it’s technically considered a puffer, its relaxed boyfriend fit gives it a totally fashion forward vibe that has made it my go-to coat all winter long. Surprisingly light, it’s actually quite warm thanks to it being filled entirely with 100% goose down.
