She’s quite the lady isn’t she? The Lady Dior is one of my favourite bags and this one in particular is quite special with its intricate embroidery. Released in 1995, there’s some special fashion lore behind the name of the bag. When then French First Lady Bernadette Chirac wanted to gift Princess Diana a special handbag during a visit to the French capital, she reached out to the house of Dior to inquire if they had something that would fit the fashion bill. The house offered her the bag that would eventually become known as the Lady Dior. The gift turned out to be quite perfect for the Princess of Wales, she was frequently photographed carrying the bag and the house re-christened the style ‘Lady Dior”, quite possibly in her honour as she was born Lady Diana Spencer. The style is considered one of Dior’s most iconic and is beloved by fashionista’s and handbag lovers alike.
