For the Spring-Summer 2022 Beauty collection, CHANEL looked to a place deeply loved by Gabrielle Chanel. LA PAUSA DE CHANEL is named for Mademoiselle Chanel’s beloved Riviera retreat. It was here where she spent time with those who she held dear. Built to her discerning taste, La Pausa featured many a reference to her private and public emblems and was imbued with the warm dappled light of the Côte d’Azur. The collection deeply draws inspiration from this very special place. Featuring a colour palette inspired by the sparking light and earthy tones of the villa and its surrounding environs, the collection is a stunning visual interpretation of LA PAUSA and the South of France.
At the heart of the collection are the latest ROUGE COCO BAUME releases. The ultra nourishing formulation includes Olive Oleoactive, a new active ingredient produced specifically for CHANEL and a nod to La Pausa’s hundred-year-old olive trees. Additionally, ROUGE COCO BAUME combines a moisturizing active ingredient, shea butter, and three plant waxes at the heart of the Hydra Boost Complex, the signature ingredient of the ROUGE COCO line to keep lips smooth and moisturized. The balm is available in 6 beautiful colors that are inspired by the flowers that grow around La Pausa. There is Dreamy White, a transparent pearlescent white, Neutral Cham, a caramel beige, Flirty Coral, a luminous coral, My Rose, a fresh pink, Passion Pink, a vibrant fuchsia, Fall for Me, a brown burgundy, and In Love, a bright red.
For eyes, the collection offers a stunning new version of LES 4 OMBRES. Embossed with a sunbeam motif it features an iridescent platinum, a gold highlighter, a beige copper, and a brown khaki that sparkle like the dappled light of the South of France. It is that soft sparking light that also inspired the latest OMBRE PREMIÈRE LAQUE. A creme shadow, it is offered in Lumière – a metallic gold beige that glides onto the eyelid effortlessly for a subtle golden sparkle.
To achieve a soft sun kissed look, there are two beautiful BLUSH LUMIÈRE options. Pêche Rosée, a satiny pink coral and Brun Roussi, a luminous terracotta brown. These creamy buildable powders add a beautiful warmth to the wearer and give the prettiest glow. To complete the sun kissed look, there is BAUME ESSENTIEL in Ensoleillé, a shimmery pink coral. Perfect to use as a subtle highlighter, it is as easily buildable as both BLUSH LUMIÈR options.
Finally, for nails there is Riviera, a pastel yellow, and Terra Rossa, a light terracotta.
