Since the wonderful Quebec government has yet to see fit to grant me a work visa, my days are spent going to yoga, taking the poodle for walks around Westmount, blogging, and exploring my gorgeous new city now that it isn’t covered in a ludicrous amount of snow. To all of the Montrealers who told me this was a “mild” winter….I say bah! There was nothing “mild” about the arctic-circle appropriate gear that had to be donned by both poodle and I for our daily walks.

Yesterday was one of those gorgeous Montreal days that made me fall in love with the city all over again. It was sunny and just warm enough to start breaking out my summer clothing. I headed down to the Old Port to meet the Frenchman and a super charming friend of his on the Nelligan Hotel’s rooftop bar, the views are gorgeous and they make a killer Lycee martini. After dropping the Frenchman’s friend off at work, he and I decided to wander around the city and see what trouble we could get into. This typically means shopping and we ended up coming across a great new boutique on de la Montagne that had just opened. KAR MA has a gorgeous assortment of beautiful women’s clothing and accessories by assorted European designers. The prices wont break the bank, especially for the quality, and the staff is beyond super helpful. When you stop in make sure to ask for Tess. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner Steve and he was a total doll, it’s always nice to see an owner so involved in a shop and so happy to be working with clients. The shop itself is also really lovely, big and airy with pretty chandeliers and boyfriend-friendly seating next to the dressing rooms. Make sure to check it out next time you’re downtown wandering about or shopping.
