Saturday night Darling Husband and I ventured out into the wilds of the suburbs to have dinner with some of his family. I’m the first to admit, I’m a raging city kid. Give me concrete and constant noise, and I’m a happy camper. Darling Husband, not so much. He’s a dyed in the wool suburbanite who knows that the only way he’ll ever convince me to leave the city for a home in the ‘burbs is by coming to terms with the fact that I’ll be tuning a bedroom into the closet of my dreams, chandeliers and all. He also knows that despite the heartburn, he might have to finally give in on my longstanding dream of horse ownership. Bribery, it’s a hell of a motivator! He dreams of the day that he has a yard in which to putter about it. I dream of a pretty brownstone on a tree lined street in walking distance to Holts. However, I know that there might come a day where I’ll have to hire a landscaping service to take care of the afore mentioned lawn that he’ll quickly get bored with.
