Happy Holidays with VTech

December 19, 2017

Before madam was born, Darling Husband and I had a conversation about how we didn’t want to go crazy with having too much “stuff” for her. From baby gear to toys, we wanted to be streamlined in our approach to parenthood. Don’t get me wrong, she has a nice collection of toys, games, and books to enjoy, and our home does have the tendency to look like a toy store exploded at the end of the day no matter how much we try to honor our conversation. I’ll admit, I’m a bit of a compulsive book purchaser and can’t go very long without picking up a new tome to enjoy with her. However, we try to be mindful of the toys we buy for her. We always look for toys that not only stimulate and entertain her, but also engage her mind and imagination. I also tend to pick up toys in French so that she’s exposed to another language. One of my wishes for her is to be bilingual since I believe it affords you so many incredible opportunities and experiences in life. From madam’s infancy, VTech was one of the toy companies that I always seemed to gravitate to. In fact, the first toy she really played with as a baby was the VTech Lil’ Critters Moosical Beads cow, and to this day she still loves it. My in-laws picked it up for her while they were in London so her version of the toy has a charming British accent when it sings! Those silly songs are quite catchy and I can’t tell you how many times Darling Husband and I have turned to each other and started singing “I’m a soft and happy cow”! Oh, the joys of parenthood!

What I’ve always loved about VTech toys was that they are intended to really engage children and help them develop their fine-motor skills through play. I also love that they have bilingual toys that allow madam (and, who am I kidding, I as well) to work on her language skills. When the company very generously reached out to offer madam some holiday goodies, I quite happily and gratefully accepted. Thanks to VTech, madam is going to have a very happy holiday season indeed! Since taking the Pull & Discover Activity Elephant out of the box she’s been very happily pulling it around and placing the different shaped blocks in the proper spaces to activate multiple songs, sounds and lights. I have no doubt as we unbox the Zoo Jamz Stompin’ Fun Drums, Pop-A-Balls Ball Pit, Go! Go! Smart Friends Shimmering Seashell Castle, and GearZooz Spin & Laugh Gearaffe over the next few days, she’s going to be having lots of fun playing, discovering, and learning.

And for those who want to scoop up a fun new VTech toy for their little one, make sure to pop over to my Instagram later today for an awesome giveaway!

I enjoy long walks through Neiman Marcus, red soled shoes, skinny black pants, oversized cocktail rings, obnoxious bows, nipped waists and full skirts.
