I went to a performing arts high school. A dance on the lunch room tables and four periods a day of either music, dance, vocal, drama, or creative writing classes type of performing arts school. Let’s just say there was a lot of crazy colored hair. Mind you, this was also the early 2000s and Gwen Stefani was my pink hair-tipped idol. Unfortunately, between a neurotic Jewish mother, a harp teacher who just about fell over when I showed up to a lesson with black nails, and a legion of frightening Russian ballet teachers, blonde highlights were the craziest I was going to get with my hair. Thanks to L’Oreal Professionnel, my teenage dreams finally came true and I am now proudly sporting a temporary streak of pink hair. The luxe hair care brand has introduced a line of temporary hair chalk that lasts for about two washes, is super vibrant, doesn’t mess with the texture of your hair, and doesn’t transfer. In both vibrant and natural shades, you can pop into your stylist and have them inject a little fun, temporary color into your regular style. You can mimic the Oscar de la Renta Spring 2013 runway beauty look with soft pastel streaks or give ombre a try before committing to a new style. From the catwalk to the red carpet, bold, temporary hair color is one of the hottest beauty trends right now and I’m loving my pink streak.
