Long time readers of the blog might remember these booties and just how much Darling Husband HATES them. I of course love them, they’re like no other shoe that I own and therefore fabulous. When I put these on Tuesday morning as I was getting ready for an event, he turned to me….groaned…and then asked “are you really wearing those?”. He could have cared less about the painted on Herve Leger bodycon dress that I had on, all he saw were what he calls “those ugly witch shoes”. These shoes are the perfect example of the school of thought that women don’t really get dressed for men, but rather for other women. Oodles of ladies I encountered that day thought these were great shoes. I know they’re not everyone’s cup of tea, but they’re quite the conversation starter. As for the event, I had the pleasure of attending a wonderful little breakfast with three other bloggers that was hosted by Clarisonic where we sipped yummy fruit smoothies and talked skincare. They’ll be launching their e-commerce site for Canada in April and are continuing to develop and grow the cult favorite beauty toll, the Clarisonic Mia. I’ve used this skin changing tool on and off for a while and when I was diligent with it, I totally saw a positive difference in my skin condition. It was wonderful getting a chance to talk with the brand rep more in depth about the device and learn about all the updates the Mia2 has undergone. From a wider range of brush heads (a male specific one and a whole new sensitive skin brush head) to the handy timer that lets you know just when to stop cleansing, I’m excited to get myself back on track with this portion of my skincare regime. Two of the most important bits of information that I walked away with are that using the Clarisonic helps maintain you skin’s elasticity and that the brush heads are actually made of a special polymer that keeps bacteria at bay. For someone who uses a new washcloth each time she washes her face and obsessively changes her pillowcases, this was very exciting news.
