Thursday night, Darling Fiance and the Frenchman escorted me to the Enduring Style event at the Muse McCord. The Young McCord in association with the museum hosted a showing of two films highlighting the legendary careers of Cristobal Balenciaga and Hubert de Givency. Before heading over, we stopped by another event hosted by the super lovely Christine behind one of my favorite Montreal based blogs, Vigilant Fashionista. While we missed the first film, we made it just in time to catch the documentary Monsieur Hubert de Givenchy by Karim Zeiahen. It was a wonderful piece that highlighted the epic career of one of the great couturiers of the modern era. His designs graced the pages of the worlds top fashion magazines, was featured in some of the most classic films of the 20th century, and was worn (and continues to be worn) by some of the world’s most fashionable women. Afterwards, we headed over to Lemeac in Outremont for their great late night dinner. Just writing this is making me crave their salmon tartar with truffle oil. Sorry for the lighting on some of these pictures darlings, the room was rather dark and we’ve yet to invest in a DSLR. I ended up playing with the lighting so that the silhouette of my dress was more apparent. Speaking of DSLRs, for those of your who already own one…any suggestions?
