This Eliza Faulkner dress is easily one of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe. Done in a beautiful black linen, it’s feminine and elegant. It features chic design elements like the oversized ruffled neckline and ribbon ties at the shoulders, and has such a beautiful movement to the silhouette. I picked it up at the end of last summer and have been looking forward to finally wearing it.
Since first being introduced to designer Eliza Faulkner’s eponymous line, I’ve counted myself a big fan of her work. She brings a refined eye to her work but her pieces are far from stuffy or overdone. Utilizing her impressive design education (she’s a graduate of the venerable Central Saint Martins and trained under some of the most respected names in the fashion world), her work is elevated yet still accessible. I love that her pieces are meant to be worn and enjoyed, layered and styled in whatever way inspires the wearer. As fresh and modern as her work is, there are beautiful classic elements to her pieces that make them timeless. I’ve invested in a few Eliza Faulkner pieces, and I love that they will undoubtably stand the test of time. I also love that the pieces are made right here in Montreal in an ethical manner and frequently with dead-stock materials.
