It snows here in Montreal…a lot. It makes me long for the days of not having to plan outfits based around snow boots or wellies. Granted I did manage to find the holy grail of snow boots before I moved, they combine that illusive combination of style and substance, but I’ve been craving the ability to wear my gorgeous shoes with out fear of snow banks, puddles and the dreaded salt that’s everywhere.
Above all I love my Christian Louboutins, what girl wouldn’t? I remember purchasing my first pair all the way back in 2005. It was love at first sight in Neiman Marcus, and their pink and green espadrille perfection had to be mine. I still have them and love wearing them, take that darling boyfriend…I told you I still wear pieces I purchased ages ago!
In honor of the gloriousness that is Christian Louboutin and his creative genius here is a great re-telling of the classic nursery rhyme “Cobbler Cobbler” from the adorable book This Little Piggy Went to Prada: Nursery Rhymes for the Blahnik Brigade by Amy Allen with the most gorgeous illustrations by Eun-Kyung Kang (makes the most perfect gift for fashionable mummies to be).
Cobbler cobbler, mend my shoes.
Careful please, they’re Christian Lous.
Those red soles, they’ll never date,
They’ll still be hot in spring ’08.
Granted it’s well past spring ’08, but we all know those red soles will truly never date.
