The Four Seasons has always had a special place in my heart. The location in Philadelphia has hosted many special moments in my life. It’s where my parent’s hosted the dinner to celebrate our Jewish wedding, where my family enjoyed many a holiday brunch, a Thanksgiving or two, and was even the location of my 5thbirthday party when myself and little friends donned our prettiest party dresses to enjoy a special tea party.
Needless to say, when the very much anticipated Montreal location opened its doors, I was very, VERY excited. I was even more excited when the team there reached out and very generously offered to host myself and a guest at The Spa Four Seasons Montreal for a treatment of our choices. My mum, who also happens to be my favorite spa partner, and I chose two different options in order to more fully experience the spa’s treatment menu. My mum went with a 60-minute personalized massage, while I obviously had to check out one of their signature facials, The Luxurious Peoni Treatment with MAX +.
Developed by celebrated skin guru Jennifer Brodeur, The Luxurious Peony Treatment with MAX + is the fruition of her 20 years of experience in the aesthetic beauty industry. Utilizing her cult favorite line Peoni and MAX + LED light therapy, it’s downright luxe. Totally pampering, it is anti-inflammatory, soothing and seriously hydrating. Starting off with a gentle yet in-depth cleansing and exfoliation, the next steps involve oxygen-infused white peony root extract that address inflammation while brightening and soothing the complexion. The treatment also includes a customized session with Max +, a non-invasive light therapy device that works on various wave lengths. The final step of this appropriately named, seriously luxurious 75-minute treatment is a pampering facial massage that draws on lymphatic drainage techniques to flush away congestion and smooth out expression lines. Needless to say, I and my skin loved the treatment that the absolutely wonderful and totally lovely Marie-Eve provided. I left the elegantly appointed treatment room positively glowing. And speaking of the treatment room, the beautiful design work of the hotel is carried over to the spa and these spaces. The treatment beds in particular are incredible. I would honestly pay to simply take a nap on them. Somehow, they are soft and plush yet firm enough where you feel supported, achieving an elusive combination which results in mattress perfection. Heated and appointed with fine linens, they have internal speakers that gently play beach sounds for a full sensory experience that leaves you totally relaxed.
As for my mother’s massage, she was left literally speechless. And let me tell you, she is neverspeechless. As someone who gets massages with a fair amount of frequency, she has admittedly high standards. She was absolutely blown away by the massage she was treated to. With a focus on personalizing the treatment to the guest’s exact needs, her incredible therapist Mbaye provided exemplary treatment. With such high praise, I knew I would need to return to see how amazing Mbaye’s massage are. Spoiler, it’s the best massage I’ve ever had.
Following our treatments, we enjoyed the relaxation space where there is hot tea, chilled spa water, and healthy nibbles like nuts and dried fruit for you to enjoy while taking advantage of the reflexology rock walk and foot soaking pools. This space lends itself to total relaxation thanks to the dim light, gentle crash of the water instillation, and semi-private couch areas.
We then made our way to the stunning pool area where we enjoyed a swim and a turn in the wet and dry saunas. To close out our day at the spa, we ordered lunch to be enjoyed poolside and enjoyed a delicious meal from the hotel’s room service menu. I would highly recommend adding pool access on to your visit to The Spa Four Seasons Montreal. It’s the perfect way to end your day at the spa and enjoy the relaxation a little bit longer. Just as with every other space of the hotel, it’s also absolutely gorgeous and no detail has been overlooked.
My mother and I were both blown away by the quality of the treatments, the warm professionalism of the entire staff of the entire spa and pool, and the beautiful space itself. There is such an incredible attention to detail carried throughout The Spa Four Seasons Montreal. From the kind welcome you receive upon arrival, as well as welcome tea and hot towels to enjoy while checking it, to the gracious goodbye you receive upon checking out, the Four Seasons Montreal Spa provides you a luxury experience and with such warmth. In fact, my mother and I enjoyed are treatments so much that we’ve returned on our own to further enjoy the Spa, and continue our tradition of ending our visit enjoying a swim and poolside lunch on multiple occasions.
It was recently announced that The Spa Four Seasons Montreal was awarded the prestigious Five-Star Award from Forbes Travel guide, making it the only spa and only one-of-two in all of Canada to receive this accolade. It is so very, very well deserved and I couldn’t be happier for the team there to be recognized for their work. I also can’t recommend The Spa Four Seasons Montreal enough, it has quickly become a favorite not just here in Montreal but of all over. I’m always looking forward to my next visit and to experiencing even more of the luxurious treatments they offer!
