I’ve previously written about my love for the CHANEL LES BEIGES beauty collection {here} and let me tell you darlings, the love is going strong thanks to the latest releases that will be hitting CHANEL beauty counters May 1st. I’m excited to give you a first look at some of the gorgeous products that make up this upcoming release, so without further ado, here’s yet another love letter to CHANEL LES BEIGES…
First introduced in 2013, the line is a celebration of natural beauty and celebrates simplicity and elegance. Not constrained by the styles of different seasons, CHANEL LES BEIGES is all about highlighting one’s natural radiance. 2018 brings an expanded definition of “nude” with a range of shades to enhance the beauty of all skin tones. Forget about full and heavy coverage – LES BEIGES celebrates the wearer’s skin and gives a healthy glow. Focusing on the eyes, lips, and complexion, the collection is streamlined and yet wonderfully comprehensive.
For skin, while it’s almost unfair to pick a standout of the products, the Sheer Healthy Glow Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30/PA++ is a true highlight. With its PA++ rating, it offers moderate protection from UVA rays which is quite substantial for a tinted moisturizer. Before I go off on a major skin protection tangent, just remember you should be wearing sun protection daily, so this is a wonderful way to make sure you’re getting quality of coverage without an extra step. With its expert formulation, the texture of the Sheer Healthy Glow Tinted Moisturizer is downright silky. It applies beautifully by almost melting into the skin, leaving a soft veil of coverage. Acting almost as a natural “pretty filter”, it highlights and brings out the best of your natural skin. Done in six shades ranging from Light to Deep, it adapts to the needs of all skin tones. This has become my personal go-to complexion booster. I love how it brings out the best in my skin while offering just the right amount of coverage. And, the fact that it’s super light-weight makes it an incredible product to use from day to night without fear of looking cakey. As a special limited-edition exclusive for this season, the LES BEIGES Healthy Glow Luminous Multi-Color Powder is a stunning compact that gives the appearance of a natural healthy glow as if you’ve spent the day outdoors (but without the sun damage). Done in three shade variations, the array of beige tones with rose and orangey hues layered together are easily applied and manipulated in accordance with the wearer’s desires. Wonderfully buildable as well, you can apply to areas on the face where the light naturally catches for a beautiful highlight, or all over for a truly glowing complexion. The latest addition to the highly successful LES BEIGES Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Stick, 2018 brings an expanded color palette with a new shade N*25, which is a beautiful rosy red. With its creamy texture, application is simple and seamless allowing one to apply with one easy glide or swipe of the fingertips. Once applied, it builds and blends with utter simplicity for a touch of color to sculpt and accentuate the cheekbones.
For lips, the LES BEIGES Healthy Glow Lip Balm gives the prettiest hint of natural color. Done in three shades, Light, Medium, and Deep, it can be worn on its own or applied together with other CHANEL lipsticks. With emollient oils, it nourishes the delicate skin of the lips leaving them pampered and nourished. I love how creamy the texture of this balm is and how it, like every other product in the collection, works to enhance rather than mask. I also adore how there is no need for precision when applying this – most of the time I simply swipe it on my lips without looking in the mirror, and the application is always perfect. And finally, for eyes there is the LES BEIGES Healthy Glow Natural Eyeshadow Palette. Done in Light, Medium, and Deep these palettes are pure perfection. With five distinct light to dark colors per palette in both matte and satin eyeshadows, they encourage the wearer to play and experiment. There is no one right way to use these palettes – the colors can be worn on their own or blended to highlight and enhance. Even the application is meant to be experimented with. In fact, you can just as easily use your fingers as a brush. The palettes even come with a small brush and foam tip applicator allowing for a virtually foolproof application. As with my previous review of the LES BEIGES collection, my recommendation is nothing short of “glowing”! While the renowned Lucia Pica, the CHANEL Global Color Director, has infused a riotously fresh breath of color and playfulness thanks to her gorgeous collections, the sultry subtlety of LES BEIGES is a downright exquisite contrast.
