As promised in my article yesterday, here is a detailed look at the CHANEL FW 23/24 Accessories that were unveiled with the Ready-to-Wear collection during Paris Fashion Week. The collection was inspired by a mixture of 1960’s and 1970’s styling and honoured the Maison’s ties to the camellia flower. This delicate looking – yet resilient – flower so beloved by Gabrielle Chanel has continued to be a House emblem. You’ll see it worked into a beautiful print that covers the stacked heel boots and menswear inspired heels found in the Fall-Winter 2023/2024. Lace also seems to be a key material, with lace tights and lace gloves with a camellia pattern being shown on the runway. For bijoux, there are the classic ropes of pearls as well as variations of pearl chokers in addition to oversized gem rings and earrings. Lest we forget sunglasses, there was a whimsical oversized flower inspired circular pair that seriously struck my fancy.
The camellia theme couldn’t be more beautifully evident than in the bags shown as part of the CHANEL FW 23/24 Accessories. There were black and white camellia minaudières that will surely set many a collectors heart a flutter, as well as leather and tweed classic styles that also featured camellias. A chic little top handle style totally reminiscent of the MOD styling reference that artistic director Virginie Viard embraced for the collection is sure to be another popular style once it hits boutiques. Pictured directly below in a charming pink, the style features a pretty enamel logo clasp. Another standout bag that will surely be popular with serious collectors and casual clients alike is a stunning sequin classic flap bag with a camellia pattern. Done in a beautiful colour palette of black, white, and a striking blue it is quite the work of art.
