With a collection inspired by the works of the French Impressionists Berthe Morisot, Marie Laurencin and Édouard Manet, English gardens, and vintage photos of Gabrielle Chanel in Belle Époque style gowns, the latest CHANEL Haute Couture collection was pure romance. As for the CHANEL F/W 2021/22 Haute Couture Beauty look that accompanied the collection, its bold almost rock’n’roll aesthetic was the perfect foil to the elegance of the garments.
Skin was clean and luminous with only the slightest hint of blush to the cheeks. Lips were a soft peachy pink and brows were natural and feathery. As for the eyes, they featured a bold double graphic line in a blue and black and muted mauve lid for a color combination that seemed lifted straight from Marie Laurencin’s palette for her 1923 portrait of Gabrielle Chanel herself.
