It’s no secret, I love a good bow. So when my CHANEL SA sent me a photo of this beautiful CHANEL bow brooch, I knew it was a must have. It was love at first sight. And you know what else I pretty much feel in love with at first sight?
Montreal.
It’s been ten years since I moved to Montreal. The past decade has seen some pretty incredible things happen for me here in Montreal. I got my B.A. in History from Concordia, got engaged to and married Darling Husband, launched WestmountFashionista, met some of my absolute best friends, we bought out first home, and I had Madam. A pretty incredible ten year stretch if I do say so myself. These past ten years have also made me fall deeper in love with Montreal.
From my very first visit here, I loved Montreal. It’s a beautiful city with a rich history, incredible cultural institutions, and one amazing restaurant scene. While it does have its moments – I’m looking at you weather and crumbling roads – I really do love living here. And while I miss being able to get unsweetened ice tea at places other than Starbucks and wouldn’t mind if stores stayed open later then 5pm on the weekends, I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. I love that by choosing to raise Madam in Montreal, she will undoubtedly be bilingual. I love that it’s one day’s drive back to Philadelphia to visit my parents, and only a little over a six hour flight to Paris. It’s a truly special and unique city that sits at the crossroads of Canadian kindness and French joie de vivre.
So much like this stunning CHANEL bow, Montreal is pretty fabulous. Here’s to another decade and beyond!
