With the CHANEL Fall/Winter 2020 Beauty collection, Global Creative Makeup and Color Designer Lucia Pica plays with the complex nature of femininity. Entitled CANDEUR ET EXPÉRIENCE : ACTE II, the CHANEL Fall/Winter 2020 Beauty Collection explores the colour most typically associated with femininity, pink. Far from cloying, the collection is an intoxicating and heady mixture of rich tones that go from the sweetest of shades to the most seductive. Drawing from Gabrielle Chanel’s own history of exploring the nature of femininity and even subverting it, Pica notes “Really, it’s an inner journey, a journey into the duality of women and femininity.”
For the eyes, there are three options of the much loved and always coveted LES 4 OMBRES eye shadow quads. In fact, the LES 4 OMBRES Candeur et Expérience palette was first seen in Fall 2016 as part of Pica’s debut collection for CHANEL. Featuring a warm brown, a light brown, a deep brick red, and a deep brown, it plays between a softness and intensity that is totally captivating. There is also, CANDEUR ET PROVOCATION with a satiny peachy pink, an intense muted pearly pink, a warm reddish sparkly plum, and a matte brown that is a beautiful play between power and subtlety. CANDEUR ET SÉDUCTION is pure vamp with a matte brownish plum, a satiny rosy palatinum, a matte plum brown, and a matte dusty raspberry.
The STYLO YEUX Waterproof comes in two striking tones, ROMANCE which is a satiny rosy brown and PSYCHÉ, a rich matte eggplant. This excellent eyeliner is perfect for defining the eye with precision but can also be easily smudged for a smoky look.
For the face, the BAUME ESSENTIEL is interpreted as a stunning fresh pearly pink called ROSéE. This incredibly multifaceted product can used in a myriad of ways and begs the wearer to experiment with application spots and techniques. It can be swiped across the cheek for a dewy look or even applied to the lip or eyes.
For lips, there are two new additions to each the ROUGE COCO, ROUGE COCO FLASH, and ROUGE ALLURE INK FUSION lines. For ROUGE COCO, there is ADRIENNE, a peachy caramel and ATTRACTION a deep bloody chocolate. ROUGE COCO FLASH is expanded with FLUSHED, a pretty warm satiny pink and LUST a 90s perfect light taupy brown. As for ROUGE ALLURE INK FUSION, Fall-Winter sees the addition of AMBIGUÏTÉ, a matte taupy brown and IDYLLIQUE, a striking matte brownish red.
Finally, for nails there are two beautiful shades that are the embodiment of the feminine paradox that Pica explores through the CHANEL BEAUTY FALL/WINTER 2020 Collection CANDEUR ET EXPÉRIENCE : ACTE II. INTERDIT is a vampy reddish brown while ÉGÉRIE is a delicate pink beige.
