After attending the wedding of friends of ours in Loudéac, a charming little town in the heart of Brittany, we ventured on towards Normandy and checked into a stunning privately owned chateau. One of the towns I was most looking forward to visiting in the area was Bayeux. It was a center of Medieval life in the region and features the staggeringly beautiful Norman-Gothic cathedral of Notre-Dame. It was also one of the first towns liberated during the Battle of Normandy during WWII, so it’s quite rich in history. Another reason…
Rennes
After a whirlwind two days in Paris, Darling Husband and I picked up our rental car and headed out on the open roads of France. Our first stop was the totally charming city of Rennes in Brittany. The capital of the region, it’s a seat of local government and has a rich history dating back well over 2,000 years. With its architectural spanning many styles and eras, from the Middle Ages…
Le Marais
Montreal is still firmly in the grip of a grey and cold winter, so I’ve decided to boycott the current weather situation through my own small act of protest. Offering a glimpse into the famed House of CHANEL, the exhibition highlighted the elegant world of Mademoiselle Chanel herself. The fully immersive experience allowed visitors to interact with the world of CHANEL on all tactile levels…
A Weekend in London
Last weekend, Darling Husband and I spent a whirlwind 48ish hours in London. With the totally zen luxe Metropolitan by COMO in Kensington as our home-base, I got to enjoy taking in the Mademoiselle Privé exhibit at the Saatchi Gallery before it closed and an oh-so important shopping exhibition to Harrods while he attended to business commitments. From dining at 34, Nobu, Hawksmore, and even visiting the cutest Second Cup on Portobello Road, we basically ate our way through our time in this amazing city…
Thanksgiving in Philadelphia Photo Diary
Thanksgiving is a huge deal in the United States and is considered one of the High Holy Days in my parents’ house, beyond you know…the real High Holy Days. Marrying a Canadian has proved quite useful this time of year since American and Canadian Thanksgivings fall on different days so there’s never the dilemma of whose parents house we go…
